Lunchtime doodle 734 - Ghost of 2010

Last sketch for 2010... Thanks all you guys and gals for your support! See you next year! :)

Exotique 6 - Back Cover

I was really happy when I found out that one of my creature designs got into Exotique 6 published by the great Ballistic Publishing. I received the book during my holiday and I just realized that my illustration is on the freakin` back cover! I didn`t know anything about this... Awesome feeling and to be honest I still can`t believe it. Best Christmas present ever! <:)
Soooo, here is the original artwork and some crappy photos about the book (looks much much better for real).

Christmas Sketches

Hohohooo! I am still alive! I just came back from my holiday (first one in 4 years!) and I am back on track. I spent one whole week without doing any work or even checking out stuff on the big interwebs and I have to tell you it was awesome. Yeah folks, termal bath, sauna, incredible food, mulled wine, loads of sleep and tons of B movies hahaha... :D
Although I haven`t had any of my tech stuff with me, I had my good old sketchbook and pencil, so here comes a little pack of sketches about the iconic figures of Christmas - with a tiny twist.

Eclipse Phase - Gatecrashing

I just got the news from Posthuman Studios that the new Eclipse Phase book is out on the big interwebs. This means I can share the illustrations what I have done for the book. <:)

If you like scifi rpg-s, this is a must have. Gatecrashing is available in two versions: the regular pdf version is $10, 200 pages, full-color, and has a ton of bookmarks and internal hyperlinks. The Gatecrashing Hack Pack includes that pdf, as well as Photoshop files for many of the pieces of art in the book, as well as some other construction files. It's $15.
Beside my illos it includes artworks from other much more awesome artists, like: Stephan Martiniere, Rich Anderson, Noah Bradley, Leanne Buckley, Saul Espinosa, Tom Garden, Zachary Graves, Tariq Hassan, Thomas Jung, Andrew McIntosh, Aaron Miller, Will Nichols, Lorenz Ruwwe, Mike Sass, Jonas Springborg, James Wolf Strehle, Bruno Werneck, Joe Wilson, Mark Winters.

Till the street release you can purchase the book at DriveThruRpg and feel free to visit the Eclipse Phase site for more info.

So here is one illo (click for full size), what is also included in the promotion pdf-s of the book.
Stay tuned, more to come soon! ;)

Zombie Santa

I finished the detailing of this Christmas illo, what I am going to use as an e-card for my friends and clients. The great thing is I got a request from CgTopia to take part in a charity project with the artwork.
Soooo, the Zombie Santa will be auctioned as a high quality canvas print in Belgium and all the money goes for helping children who have lost their parents to AIDS.

Kung Fu LIVE!

I have worked on an awesome fun game a bit more than a year ago for VAGC and I just found out that the game is on sale since the 7th of December. I made some character designs in the pre-production stage, but unfortunately I still haven`t got permission to show them. Till the artworks gets cleared from the NDAs here is the trailer of the game! Kiaiiii! <:)

Zombie Santa - Character Design Process

I made these designs as a demo for my cg and concept art class yesterday. The idea was to go through the different stages of character development with the theme `Weird Santa`. The goal is to create a character, what we are going to use for a funny e-postcard, what we can send out for clients / family / friends.
I was always afraid a bit of Santas as a kid, so I thought I make a zombie to caricature my fears. <:)
Stay tuned, the final detailed version is coming soon!

Sword Design - Speedpainting

I made this quick sword design as a demo for my cg and concept art class yesterday. The main idea was to show how to paint different materials (like steel, gold, wood, etc.) with focusing on the main characteristics, like color, reflections and aging.

Lunchtime doodle 704 - Mutant Sea Dragon

Gladiator - Speedpainting

I painted this quick character color rough as a demo for my cg and concept art class yesterday. The main idea was to show an easy way to build up a character design from a silhouette and to show how to establish generic skin colors easily.
