Behind the Pixels - The Journey

I can't believe it was already a year ago, when we closed the crowdfunding campaign of my tutorial artbook Behind the Pixels. When I first came up with the idea of the book I couldn`t possibly imagine that so many people would stand behind the idea.
After loads of work, what I was doing after my regular working hours (doing 18-20 hour days, seven days a week for months) the book become reality. Although I had lots of struggles with the logistics and shipping, I am proud that we shipped all books to our supporters by now and the book is finally available through BehindthePixels.net.

Its a great feeling to read the feedback of the readers and it's fantastic that I could give back a little to this supportive community. Without you guys I would be nowhere and I definitely wouldn`t do what I am doing. I just wanted to thank you for your continuos support and for all my contributing artist friends who were kind enough to join this journey from the beginning. :)

First of all, thank you for your patience during the previous months and your continuos support around my book. As we finally managed to ship all hard copies and the pledgers started to receive their books and got their digital versions, we can finally go online with everything.

Behind the PIxels - All Books Shipped!

After months of hard times I got the news from the shipping company that all books are left their warehouse! This means that all pledgers should receive their book in no more than a couple of weeks depending on country of origin / shipping address.
Digital downloads are also going to go live next week to pledgers and soon to all the interwebs.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all the incredible patience and support what I got. You are the best! I hope you gonna like the book when it finally arrives to your doorstep. :)

Behind the Pixels - Update for Pledgers

"I would like to send a special message and apology to all the people who've pledged for Behind The Pixels Artbook by Mark Molnar and don't get it yet.

I've been too swamped to be able to deliver the shipping right on time. To speed up and improve the process of shipping and delivering of all books, and future projects, I'm happy to announce that I've finalized a deal with the same company that has printed Coverama from Marc Simonetti and Behind The Pixels.

The final agreement will be made next week and all books will be shipped and tracked by them. The deal not only includes the shipping all books from the campaign but also the shipping process of all future orders and campaigns.

Once again, I'm really sorry for all delays, but everything is on the right track now. All pledgers will get an email next Monday will all details concerning the operation and I'll offer a little compensation for the delay."

Behind the Pixels - Shipping Update

I am receiving a lot of emails lately about when you are going to receive your books and wanted to give you an update.
We started sending out the books about two and a half weeks ago and we are still working on it. Please understand that we are not a big publisher or Amazon, who have automatised warehouses and a huge crew - we are doing the packaging by ourselves and carry each pack of books to the post of office. We know it can be frustrating, especially because books started arriving at peoples door steps and your parcel is still on the way. We are doing our best to send out all the books till the end of March and we will email you the digital version as soon as we finished shipping the hard copies.

Behind the Pixels Arrived!

The books just landed in my studio and they look totally awesome! I cannot really describe how this feels. With the help of so many amazing people and 9 months of hard work I can finally hold this beauty in my hands. I hope people are going to like it as much as I did doing it and I hope its gonna be a useful book for upcoming artists. Thank you very much for your continuous support! :)

Behind the Pixels at the Printer!

Yay! After 7 months of hard work we sent the book to the printer!

We were able to add some extra content, so the final book holds nearly 550 high res artworks, 35 tutorials and step-by-steps from 33 artist altogether and also some free online video content for your viewing pleasure. So far we got great response from everyone who have seen the final content, so we hope you are going to enjoy it as well.

We start shipping the books (and opening pre-orders for those who missed the campaign) as soon as we receive the first batch of copies! :)

Behind the Pixels - Almost There!

We were working really hard in the past two months to get the best possible thing in your hands and we are getting really close to finish the book. 25+ tutorials and step-by-step walkthroughs in various topics from 33 artists and more than 400 artworks on nearly 300 pages. I hope you gonna like it... :)
BUT! To get the books shipped to you we are going to need your shipping address!
Although we sent out updates and reminders in every two weeks since the campaign closed with IT'S ART, we are still missing around 25% of the shipping addresses.
How you can give us your address? Easy peasy! Just go to IT'S ART, log in into your account in the top right corner and under 'Project+' go to 'Project Dashboard', where you can edit your Account details and add your billing and shipping address. Done! :)

Behind the Pixels LIVE 06 > Vehicle Design

I am still waiting for an engineer to come out and fix my broadband, so I decided to go and record the next session offline again instead of facing the speed-drops and disconnections. I am covering the basics of vehicle design starting with really rough sketches, then moving to fine lineart and coloring / finishing in a bit more than 2 hours. This is the final image of the demo as a teaser and going to upload the video tonight / tomorrow.

Behind the Pixels 100%+ Funded!

I am really happy to announce that my tutorial artbook Behind the Pixels is reached the 100% yesterday evening! I wanted to take this opportunity to thank for the more than 200 pledgers, who believed in this idea.
