I wonder what creature it was while still alive and how did its life end. The hole in its trapezius suggests it was impaled while leaping onto its prey by some sort of pole-arm. The defender probably didn't survive the attack either.
BTW What textures did you use for the rotting flesh? It's kinda nasty! :D Looks to me like some kind of skin of Elephant/Rhino or something. :)
