Dragon hunter

Usually I don`t really like painting environments in my freetime, because I am working as an environment concept artist... Actually I just started to doodle around and I quiet liked those spike-like rocks, so I started to detail it further. Then I needed a character to add a scale... but what the hell that knight doing on this unfriendly landscape? he is chasing a dragon of course! :-)

Done in about 2,5 hours in Photoshop and - what is a bit unusual from me - I just used one (!!!) layer and only a basic square brush.

Afternoon sleep

My girlfriend had a pretty nasty migrenic headache this afternoon, so she had a sleep.
I just started to play around with Painter and decided to make a life drawing exercise about her. It was mainly about capturing the different colors and try out the acrylic tool. I am more a Photoshop guy, so it didn`t really turned out how I wanted... I made the final touches in CS3 - the whole process was about an hour.

Here is the final image... I am thinking about making some color tinting, but I will leave it for now... About 30 hours of work in cs3, original size is about 5000 x 2500 px.
(I will put together some tutorial about this one as well somewhere next week...)

Just were at an alternative (not a good word, but don`t really know better heh) sketching group event. The whole thing was mainly about having a couple of drinks and drawing girls in costumes in a pub. It was just awesome! Thanks Dr. Sketch! Thanks Whammy Bar! :-)

I used 0.3 black marker and different gray brush-tip markers this time. 3-15 mins / each.

Life drawing

I went to a life drawing course to Devonport with some friends from work this Thursday.
I haven`t done life drawing since my first year on the uni, so its quiet fun to start it again... working in huge scale on an easel - hell yeah! :-)
